About Us
The Institute of Self Awareness opened in 2001 to provide a wide variety of classes and seminars to nurture and balance mind, body, and spirit. Founder Butch Spence has over 20 years experience in teaching and practice in mainstream and alternative medical fields, spiritual counseling, Eastern philosophy and music, and metaphysics.
The Institute is very open to all interests and perspectives of living and healing. Working to make each one of us more connected with ourselves and the Universe around us is our goal. Sharing knowledge drawn from everything from Eastern metaphysical practices, to Holistic medicine, to modern proven technologies, allows us to provide the best of all worlds for you to chose from.
The Institute of Self Awareness is dedicated to helping encourage the dissemination of knowledge and information in the Central Florida community. Online forums and interviews will provide information about practices, practitioners, and events in the area.
The Institute is dedicated to serving the teachers and healers who provide classes and seminars for all in the community, often for little in return. For them, we will provide regular healing and networking sessions.

The Institute offers near infared sessions using NASA photonic technology. NASA developed this breakthrough technology in the 1990s to use on the International Space Station.
